The most convenient way to enjoy a glass of fresh pressed citrus juice in the morning!
Hello again friends! Today, we want to talk about one of our most used kitchen gadgets – The Breville Citrus Press Pro! This powerful, and simple to use appliance has earned a permanent spot on our counter top. We always have it plugged in and ready to juice lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruits, tangerines, you name it! We use this citrus press nearly everyday since we purchased it a year ago. Today, we will be sharing our honest and unfiltered thoughts on this appliance. Spoiler alert: we LOVE IT!
Functionality
You can make a glass of fresh juice in no time! The Breville Citrus Press is simple to use. Slice your citrus in half and secure to the juicing dome. Use the lever and push down firmly to start juicing. You will be amazed at how quickly and cleanly this gadget produces a fresh cup of juice! The filter basket catches the pulp and seeds, leaving you with fresh pressed juice in about 30 seconds. The Citrus Press is sturdy and substantial, with a stainless steel construction. It looks and feels like a quality appliance, we wouldn’t expect anything less from Breville.
Our favourite citrus to juice is grapefruit. Just one grapefruit produces an entire cup full of juice. It’s a wonderful treat accompanied by breakfast or brunch! Makes me feel like I’m receiving room service at a hotel. We bought the Citrus Press Pro because we were tired of using a ‘manual’ citrus press when making cocktails. The manual press was messy and didn’t yield as much juice as the Citrus Press Pro. Plus, our manual press was too small to use for oranges and grapefruits. The Citrus Press Pro is great because you can juice any sized citrus fruit! Imagine hosting brunch on a Sunday with mimosas made from fresh-pressed orange juice… impressive and delicious!
Easy cleaning
One of the best features of the Citrus Press is how easily it can be cleaned. Other electric juicers usually have blades, filters, receptacles, etc. which can be time consuming to take apart and clean. This inconvenience usually deters one from using the appliance on a regular basis. On the Breville, there are four components which come in contact with the fruit: the juicing cone, fruit dome, filter, and filter basket. Each component can be quickly rinsed under warm water for fast cleaning. The filter basket is affixed with a ‘drip stop spout’ which prevents the leftover juices in the basket from spilling onto your counter top. A small, but innovative feature that enhances the user experience.
The fruit dome can accumulate citrus oils from the fruit’s exterior easily and tends to become sticky so make sure to detach and give it a rinse after each use. I recommend to scrub the fruit dome with a sponge and soap once in a while to remove the build-up.
The juicing cone has an acid resistant coating so you won’t have to worry about corroding the metal. The cone fits perfectly to accommodate any sized citrus fruit from limes to grapefruit. I’m always amazed by how much juice this device is able to extract compared to a manual juice press. It leaves the rind of the fruits nearly dry once done juicing. All with minimal effort!
One small issue…
My only gripe with this product concerns the fruit dome – the part that holds your fruit in place when juicing. It is not attached to the juicing arm securely so it tends to wobble sometimes. There is an ‘O-ring’ that helps to hold it place, but these are made of plastic and wear down eventually. The juicer comes with a few replacements so we swapped the worn out O-ring for a new one after 6 months of constant use. They are available for purchase on the Breville website if you run out, but they are $5 EACH! Exorbitantly priced for one tiny piece of plastic, especially since we paid $300 already for the appliance.
Final thoughts
Overall, we really love the Breville Citrus Press Pro, particularly due to it’s simplicity in juicing and cleaning up afterwards. It is a beautifully designed and functional product. If you are into making cocktails at home, I think the Breville Citrus Press is a worthwhile investment. We use it regularly to make lemon and lime juices for our cocktails, fresh orange juice for mimosas, and fresh grapefruit juice for breakfast. I honestly didn’t think we would enjoy it this much when we bought it, but it has rightfully earned a permanent place on our counter top – next to an always-full basket of fresh citrus, of course.

Wonderful review of a product. Haven’t seen this much clean and informative review ina while. I used this juicer myself and yes, this is a wonderful juicer. The only problem mentioned here is not so many problems as many other juicers need this kind of maintenance too. but yes, that part could be improved. A wonderful piece of the product if you love juicing citrus fruits.
Thank you so much for sharing your user review. Looking forward to more reviews like this one.
